Languageis an important communicative tool and a culture carrier. As a social phenomenon, the development of language is dependent on the development of the society. Anychange in a society results in a change in its vocabulary, "because vocabularyis the vital part of the language." (Aito J, 1999: 14). 内容来自www.paper51.com

Withthe development of society, science and technology, new words are emerging endlessly.During the development of society, communication always happens among nations. Theloan words occur when some names can not find appropriate words in anotherlanguage, or when a language is influence by another language. 2. Meanings of “borrowings" paper51.com

Borrowingis a sociolinguistic process which is not always appreciated by all members ofthe language community. Due to the difference in culture and language, somewords in this language can not find suitable or similar words in anotherlanguage. The borrowed words may be extended with other new meanings while theculture is transmitted. There are some visible influence between the cultureand borrowed words. When a foreign word is borrowed into another language, itssound and morphology may be changed so as to fit the new language system. paper51.com
