1. Introduction paper51.com

Problem behaviors commonly exist among junior middle school students. Inthe classroom, some students do not concentrate their attention on the class;some make noises without considering others and have conflict with the teacher;some are ill at ease and disturb students beside them. English is a veryimportant course in junior middle school. These problem behaviors disturb the Englishteaching order, decrease the teaching effect, and have a bad influence onstudents. In order to promote the development of English classroom teaching, Englishteachers have to take measures to prevent and reduce the occurrence ofclassroom problem behaviors. According to M. Swift (1975), in a typical Englishclassroom, 25% to 30% of the students have problem behaviors. These problem behaviorsinclude paying no heed to anything, being indifferent, avoiding to take part inclassroom activities, being ill at ease and overdoing activities (杨桂兰, 2003). Most of theproblem behaviors are made by low-score students, but teachers cannot have prejudiceagainst them. Attention should be paid to students’ behavior, instead of thestudents themselves.
