Nowadays,learning a foreign language is not a new thing. English is the second language inChina.Learning English especially oral English is urgent for students. Students'spoken English  in the middleschools is poor. In order to change their spoken English ability to speak oralEnglish, various methods are used in English teaching. Two major methods (traditionaloral English teaching methods and modem English teaching methods) are discussedin detail in my paper for the purpose of developing students' oral Englishability. However, we know these are not enough for an English teachersucceeding in oral English teaching. In the course of teaching, there are someproblems. They are not only students' problems, but also teachers' problems.There are so many books, magazines and newspapers talking about how to improvestudents' speaking ability, but that is not enough for students to makecommunication in daily life after they have leaned so much and so long a timein the English classes. In fact, oral English teaching should be connected withstudents, teachers and the administrators of schools. They should know theirroles in teaching. That is to say, students should do their best in learningEnglish speaking. Teachers should try their best to develop students' oralEnglish ability and the administrators of schools should provide conditionsthat are good for students to learn as possible as they can. 内容来自www.paper51.com

现在,学习一门外语并不是一件新鲜事。英语是中国的第二语言。学习英语对学生来说是一件紧迫的事情,尤其英语口语。在中学里学生的英语口语是不理想的。为了改变他们的英语口语能力,各种不同的方法都用于英语口语教学中。两个主要的方法是传统的英语口语教方法和现代的英语口语教学方法。它们的使用目的都是为了发展学生的英语口语能力。然而,我们知道仅仅有这些对于一位英语的老师来说,要想在口语教学中获得成功是不够的。教学中的一些问题不容忽视。其中不但有学生的问题,而且有老师的问题。 现在有很多书,杂志和报纸都是关于该如何提高学生的口语能力。虽然学生们在课堂上学了很多,他们也学了很长时间,但是他们在日常生活中仍然不能用英语交谈。中学英语口语的教学应该与学生,老师和学校紧紧相连。他们应该明白的他们在口语教学中角色。学生应该努力的学好英语口语,老师应该尽力使学生提高他们的英语口语能力,学校应该最大限度为学生提供学好英语口语的有利条件。总之,中学英语口语教学需要人们的关注与建议。 paper51.com

Nowadays, English hasbecome a more important way for Chinese communicating with foreigners, becauseit is the widest used language in the world. In China, English is not only animportant subject in middle schools, but also in primary schools anduniversities. Learning and mastering English is a basic demand for Chinese in 21stcentury. When students learn English, they always feel that they cannot talkwith others easily although they have learned it for a long time. So, speakingis the most difficult but important. In middle schools, speaking is not a smallproblem for English teachers and students. English teachers try their best toimprove students’ oral English, but it is less effective. Students know thatspeaking is important, but they do not know how to learn it well. For thesereasons, speaking is noticed all the time, and it is developing faster andfaster. For English teachers, oral practice is a useful way to develop student’soral English.

Now, students in middleschool are requested that their spoken English should achieve two levels:first, students can make simple asking and answering questions after learning atext. They can use what they have learned and make simple dialogues in dailylife; at second level, on the basis of the first level, what students asked todo more is to retell the text. When they are familiar with a theme, they shouldexpress their ideas after they see a picture, a video record and others. Theyshould tell simple stories, make simulation and role-play by using the familiarwords to make communication freely.
